France donates 8 million euros for MDY water supply

MCDC expands ‘smart’ traffic lights

"Smart" traffic lights in Mandalay intended to increase pedestrian safety and keep traffic moving are to be installed in more locations this year. Sensor-operated Real Time Traffic Lights were first installed last year, along with a central control room, to reduce accidents, said the city's buildings and warehouses department. Another 10 sets of lights will be installed in March.

U Myint Kyaing, permanent secretary of the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population, told The Myanmar Times on January 11 that the pilot would help identify the practical difficulties of the scheme.
