New heritage draft law includes hefty fines

People or companies who break a law now being drafted to protect and preserve the country's religious heritage could face up to seven years in prison and be fined up to K1 billion (US$743,000), officials say. The draft law for the protection and preservation of cultural heritage regions is being prepared in the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture.
